In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK preparing for a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to travel that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists slowed down my talk don't think I can make the flight we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an amazing helper".

These exchanges were published on Wednesday together with more than 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is withheld. The BBC managed to establish his involvement by cross-referencing the timeline, occurrences, and locations referenced.

For instance, Epstein talks about chartering a plane from the UK for the redacted user in the messages, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and delivered the talk at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, did not reply on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as Trump's key advisers in the lead-up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was producing a film about Epstein before his death and reportedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his show earlier this year, he said: "We're going to release the series, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the convicted paedophile at times seeming to act like a aide.

A few days prior to the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you're taken care of."

British Affairs Mentioned in Messages

The released communications also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit issue this day with Nigel, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to Theresa May, the struggling British leader at the period, he added: "They are trying to move on. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "In my view remaining as long as you can in the UK. Ideal- so others see the commitment of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the people here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was finally removed in 2019 after surviving two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK informed media: "Nigel Farage has never been in a gathering with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter occurred.

The US House of Representatives will vote next week on whether the Department of Justice should release all its records related to its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in that year.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was reignited recently after the release of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

A portion of those referenced Trump, who has repeatedly rejected any wrongdoing. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
